So having a stylish room that makes you feel good is important and here are some tips and tricks that you can use to get your interior design skills up to grade.
The first thing you have to look at in any room is the shape and where your eye naturally goes. For example, not all rooms are perfect boxes... especially today as many rooms are connected and open. But if you step back and take a look, you will probably find a spot in the room that grabs your eye. It could the where a fireplace is... or where a different shaped wall is.
This is important because you will most likely build your room around that focal point. I tend to like to put some great picture on this spot and then build everything around that, but be careful with the angles.
Next you will want to look at the colors you want. Most people these days have given up on wallpaper because it's a mess and outdated. And paint colors are so numerous that you can pretty much find whatever you want. Depending on your personality, you may want to build out deep colors or light colors, but do something that complements who you are.
Keep the room colors and style flowing together, but you can throw some things to make it different. It could be a picture or a series of pictures that are slightly off and because of that, they grab your eye.
Finally, make sure that your furniture matches the style of the room. Get creative and use things that are not supposed to be used. For example, you can use crates or travel boxes to set up a coffee table. Small things like this will really add the rooms character and make it very unique.
Everything else like blankets and pillows should match too. As you can tell, there is a lot your can do. The two biggest factors is to make sure you build around your rooms focal point, keep the right angles, and most importantly... use your imagination.
